How this site treats information
U.S. law and the law of the State of Illinois, including Chicago and Cook County. Not a Canadian notice.
Who we are
Northstar House publishes this independent informational website about a free youth rec house at 4700 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60615. Contact: [email protected], +1 (773) 555-0162.
What we collect
The desk form runs in your browser. Submitting it shows a success note on the same page. This static site does not operate a payment processor and does not ask for card numbers, bank accounts, or Social Security numbers.
If you write or call the physical desk, staff keep what they need to enroll a child or schedule a volunteer — name, age band, neighborhood, phone or email, notes you give. Children’s records stay on the house’s paper and devices, not on a public page.
Cookies
The classifieds bar at the bottom of the page can store a single yes/no in localStorage so the bar does not return. Accept or Decline. That choice is not an advertising profile. We do not sell lists.
Children
The house serves ages 5–17. This website is for guardians and volunteers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the public form beyond what a guardian types. COPPA and Illinois rules on student and minor data guide the desk. Ask Mina Patel how the paper cards are stored.
Illinois rights
Illinois Personal Information Protection Act applies to any personal information the house keeps. If a breach of computerized personal information happens, the house will notify as Illinois law requires. Chicago residents may also have rights under applicable city rules on data.
Third parties
This static site does not load a marketing pixel from a broker. Photos include Wikimedia Commons files and credited portraits; those files stay local on this site.
